Power Window Switch Removal and Repair. My left rear window switch allowed down but not up, the "up" direction would not click all the way; it was jammed for some reason. So I removed it, disassembled it, and repaired it using the above post, but I have a tip to add. On mine, I could not find anything physically wrong with it upon disassembly.
Be aware that a few window regulator systems supply 12v constantly, and switch the ground side of the circuit. Check the schematic. Also, most vehicles have the ability to lock--and deactivate
Roll down your window without triggering the auto down toggle by softly pressing the down switch. Leave the window down for 10-15 minutes and see if you can still roll it up. If you can, then it's the auto toggle. If not, then the whole unit is bad. See this other thread where the guy had the same problem.
Try the fuse. The switch may be faulty so check by removing the inner door panel and connecting a 12v battery via two wires to the motor that winds the window up and down. Apr 18, 2013. #1. Ok this is weird. I replaced my power window motor in the rear doors. Now the left rear power window switch works in reverse. I push the switch to raise the window and it goes down. I push the switch to the down position and the window goes up. Anyone had this happen?
My lock out switch failed and the bypass took 5 minutes to complete. A length of wire 4 to 5 inches long. You will need 2 of these. Just splice the one end of the jumper into the brown wire and the other end into the yellow wire. Took a total of 5 minutes to complete. .
